Emily Haar is a Partner at Piper Alderman, specialising in Employment and Industrial Relations.
She supports her clients by providing timely and practical legal advice to organisations through every stage of employment, including hiring, managing the workforce, and resolving disputes.
Using her communications background and Bachelor of Media, Emily is the creator and host of Piper Alderman’s podcast, ‘Employment Law for the Time Poor’, updating listeners on complicated legal issues in manageable portions. Since launching in September 2019, the team have published more than 40 episodes accessed by 50,000-plus listeners.
She has been recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a Rising Star for Employment and WHS in Australia and as a Leading Employment Lawyer (Employer Representation) for South Australia since 2023. Emily has also been named as a Next Generation Partner in the 2025 Edition of the Legal 500, and is a 2026 “Best Lawyer” in the categories of Human Rights Law and Labour and Employment Law. Outside of her legal work, Emily is a non-executive director of two not-for-profit entities in the education and aged care sectors.
