Jacqueline King

General Secretary of the Queensland Council of Unions

Jacqueline King is the General Secretary of the Queensland Council of Unions representing the interests of 400,000 Queensland union members.

She has previously worked for the Finance Sector Union, the Australian Services Union, the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union and the Australian Council of Trade Unions, and is a member of the Electrical Trades Union, Queensland Branch.

Jacqueline is a strong advocate of workers’ rights, in particular work health and safety, women’s rights and women’s safety. Jacqueline was involved in establishing Queensland’s nation leading psychosocial hazards and stand alone sexual harassment prevention regulations, and more recently, has led the QCU ‘Its for Every Body’ campaign to establish a minimum employment standard of 10 days paid reproductive health leave for every worker, achieving its first success in the Queensland public sector in 2024. Jacqueline holds a First Class Bachelor of Law degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
