Barrister, Tasmanian and Victorian Bars

Maree has over 12 years of experience as a barrister. Her work focuses on investigations, inquiries and commissions, as well as work in the areas of the common law, public and administrative law, disciplinary matters and employment law.

Between 2021 and 2023, Maree acted as Counsel Assisting the Commission of Inquiry into the Tasmanian Government’s Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Institutional Settings (led by E Bennett SC).

Maree has a First Class Honours degree in law from the University of Tasmania and a Master of Law degree from the University of Cambridge. Since her admission in 2005 she has practised in Victoria, first as a solicitor with Allens and, from 2010 onwards, as a member of the Victorian Bar. She joined the Tasmanian Bar in 2020.  She also served as an Associate to the Honourable Justice Neave of the Victorian Court of Appeal.
