Stacey Schinnerl
Queensland Branch Secretary, Australian Workers Union
Stacey is the Secretary of The Australian Workers’ Union of Employees, Queensland and the Branch Secretary of The Australian Workers’ Union (Queensland Branch)* – the first woman in the AWU’s nearly 140-year history to hold these roles. In both industrial advocacy and elected union positions, Stacey has represented the interests of Queensland workers for over 20 years.
Stacey serves on the Australian Council of Trade Unions and is a Vice-President of the Queensland Council of Unions. Stacey is also a current Director of WorkCover Queensland, Chifley Services Pty Ltd and Services and Creative Skills Australia and is an alternate Director of the Australian Construction Industry Redundancy Trust.
She holds a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Human Resource Management and Employment Relations. In Queensland, the AWU represents over 20,000 workers in industries such as: health, disability care, aged care, metalliferous mining, civil construction, local government, youth justice, manufacturing, retail (NQ), oil & gas, aviation, transport, hospitality, waste service, water, agriculture, forestry and much more!
